How much does a cleaner cost in Thetford? A straightforward guide
How domestic cleaning is priced, what changes the cost, and what you actually get for your money, with our own prices in plain sight.

If you are thinking about getting a cleaner, the first question is usually the cost. The honest answer is that it depends on the size of your home, how often you want a clean and how much needs doing. This guide explains how pricing works, what changes it, and what our own home cleaning in Thetford costs.
How cleaners charge
Most domestic cleaners in the UK charge by the hour. Some quote a fixed price per visit once they have seen the home, which is really an hourly rate worked out in advance. Hourly pricing is the fairest for regular cleaning because you only pay for the time your home needs.
Our routine home cleaning is £20 per hour for one cleaner, with no minimum visit. Deep cleans are from £25 per cleaner, per hour, because they take more detailed work and more products and equipment. You pay once the clean is complete, by bank transfer or card.

What affects the price
- Size of the home. More bedrooms and bathrooms mean more time.
- How often. Weekly and fortnightly homes stay on top of things, so each visit is quicker. A home that has not been cleaned in a while takes longer the first time.
- What you want included. Ironing, inside the fridge or inside the oven all add time.
- Pets and family life. Pet hair and busy households mean more vacuuming and wiping.
- Access and parking. Easy access keeps the time on the job, not on getting there.
How many hours will my home need?
Every home is different, so we agree the time with you before we start and there are no surprises. As a guide, this is how long a regular clean usually takes one of our cleaners, and what that costs at £20 per hour:
| Home | Typical time | Typical cost |
|---|---|---|
| 1 bedroom | Around 2 hours | About £40 |
| 2 bedrooms | Around 2.5 to 3 hours | About £50 to £60 |
| 3 bedrooms | Around 3 to 4 hours | About £60 to £80 |
| 4 bedrooms | Around 4 to 5 hours | About £80 to £100 |
Extra bathrooms, the condition of the home and how often it is cleaned all change the time. A first clean or a deep clean takes longer than a regular visit because it covers the areas a weekly clean does not. Want a quick figure for your home? Try our price estimator.
What a regular clean includes
- Kitchen: worktops, hob, sink, cupboard fronts and appliances wiped down
- Bathrooms: bath, shower, basin, toilet, tiles and mirrors
- Dusting of surfaces, skirting boards and reachable areas
- Floors vacuumed and mopped throughout
- Bins emptied and rooms left tidy
If you need more, our specialist cleaning covers the rest: oven cleaning from £50 (single oven), carpet cleaning from £40 per room and fabric sofas from £55.
Regular, one-off or deep clean?
A regular clean keeps a home under control week to week. A one-off clean suits a busy month, visitors arriving or getting back on top of things. A deep clean goes top to bottom, including the areas regular cleaning leaves alone. We explain the difference in more detail in deep clean vs regular clean.
Moving out?
End of tenancy cleans are priced differently because they are a full top to bottom clean of an empty property. Ours start from £145 for a 1 bedroom property, £175 for 2 bedrooms, £225 for 3 and £295 for 4, with a standard oven clean included. See end of tenancy cleaning, or use our end of tenancy checklist if you are doing it yourself.
