Cookie policy
Last updated 6 October 2026
Cookies are small files that websites store on your device. We keep them to a minimum. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not embed social media or video players that set their own. Two things are optional and only happen if you choose them: Google Analytics, and the live Google Map.
Google Analytics (only if you accept)
When you first visit, a banner asks whether we can use Google Analytics. Nothing is loaded and no Analytics cookie is set unless you press Accept.
If you accept, Google Analytics helps us understand how people find and use the website: which pages are visited, how long people stay, which website or search brought them here, the type of device and browser, and the approximate town or region. We use this only to improve the website. Advertising features are switched off, and Google Analytics does not store your IP address. It sets these cookies:
- _ga: tells one visitor's browser apart from another. Expires after 2 years.
- _ga_E5212642G2: keeps track of your current visit. Expires after 2 years.
Google processes this information on our behalf and may store it outside the UK under appropriate safeguards. You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Detailed Analytics data is deleted automatically after the retention period set in our account; summary reports, which do not identify anyone, are kept.
You can change your mind at any time with the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page, or the button above. If you withdraw your consent, we stop Google Analytics and delete its cookies from your browser.
Remembering your choice
We store your answer in your browser (under the name onyx-consent) so we do not ask you on every page. This is strictly necessary to respect your choice. We ask again after 12 months.
Cookies set by our website host
This website is hosted by Wix, which sets a small number of cookies to deliver the site securely and reliably:
- wixSession and client-session-bind: keep your visit secure and working. These are strictly necessary.
- bSession: used by Wix to measure the performance of its hosting.
Wix sets these when the page is delivered, before any of our own code runs, so we are not able to switch them off. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; the site will still work.
Google Maps (only if you choose to load it)
Our maps are drawn by us and set no cookies. Next to each map there is a button to load the live Google Map instead. Only if you press it does your browser connect to Google, which may then set its own cookies, such as NID, under Google's cookie policy. The "Open in Google Maps" link simply takes you to Google's website.
